In 1870, the girls are found with another family (Trunquist) in Chicago; shortly after the youngest girl goes to the children's home in Andover. She ends up marrying John Swensson so there are some records about that family; he and his father were fairly well known Swedish pastors. The oldest girl is my ancestor, gr gr grandmother, so I have been able to follow her descendents. The other sister, Matilda, and their brother, Sven August, are part of this brick wall, being unable to follow them past 1870 (and Sven, past the originally immigration). Their parents died between 1864 and 1870 (they "died shortly after they immigrated"); it's possible the son also died at that time? I don't know if they started out in Chicago or not, but am presuming that. Have searched all possible variations of the Olssen name (that is the most common spelling I've found, also Ohlsson) Would like to find death records for parents and either death or marriage, etc. records for the two remaining children, Sven & Matilda. It should be noted that all but the youngest were actually step children of the father as their father died in Sweden; his name was Sven Svensson; I had considered whether the son might go back to his natural father's name (Svensson) or even the step father's patronymic (Andersson) Step father was Anders Olofsson, mother was Johanna Magnusdotter Blixt. I would love some new ideas to follow :-)
